Bethenny Frankel has a message for “haters” who compare her appearance to the way she looked during the early years of her career.
“Someone on social media commented on my physical appearance — literally it was 20 years ago, and comparing it now,” Bethenny, 53, said during the Tuesday, October 22 episode of her “Just B” podcast.
She explained that online trolls were upset that her jaw “looked completely different,” which she said was because she had not discovered Botox yet when the throwback photo was taken.
“My jaw was much bigger, but, like, people commenting on someone else’s physical appearance, it’s like, being mad that I look better,” she told her listeners. “Like, I literally look better, and they’re annoyed, and you can tell. And again, that’s a hater, and I like that.”
The Bravo alum credited the harsh comments she receives on social media to people being “jealous” and “bitter” about how her beauty has only improved with age — with a little help.
“It’s annoying you that I look good. ‘Where’s the old Bethenny?’ It doesn’t f–king matter ’cause this is the new Bethenny, bitch,” she clapped back. “Like, you’re so annoyed, and I love it ’cause the more you get annoyed, the more I know it’s working.”
The mom of one went on to say that people generally get mad when others use their means to take advantage of ways to improve their looks. She compared it to people losing weight on Ozempic.
“People want people to stay. They get mad. ‘Ozempic, you’re doing Ozempic. I gotta catch you. I gotta be mad at you. But it’s just ’cause you’re lying,’” she continued. “And I understand the lying part, and I understand the leading people to believe that it’s about eating healthy and working out ’cause then it’s not presenting an accurate message. But I think it goes deeper. I think people are mad that other people are allowed to now look good. They don’t like it.”
The New York native ended her message with a promise to continue doing whatever she wants when it comes to changing her appearance, adding, “I’ll do what I want. I’ll wear what I want. I’ll get done what I want. None of your f–king business. I’ll look how I want.”
Bethenny is no stranger to clapping back at fans. In March, she was slammed for her parenting choices and what she allowed her daughter, Bryn, to wear.
“Some people think it’s their business how I parent and how my daughter dresses,” Bethenny began in an Instagram video. “I have the most beautiful, thoughtful, caring, loving, spiritual, sensitive, darling, loving, smart human being for a child and that takes work.”
She said her daughter was “nearly perfect,” adding that she worked “very hard” to raise Bryn right. She told her haters to “take a seat” before she “f–ked” them up.
“You can criticize my looks, my career, my choices, my words, but the one thing you cannot criticize is my parenting,” Bethenny continued. “It is the most important thing to me. I cherish it, and I am on the case.”
