C.J. Stroud burst onto the scene in his rookie year, giving the Houston Texans a major boost.
He helped bring them from being one of the worst teams in football to a playoff team, showcasing how much he means to this organization.
The Texans planned well to build around him, beefing up their defense to give him more time on the field, as well as adding several new skill-position players for the offense.
Stroud has thrived under this regime and roster, but there’s always room for improvement and growth.
He is seemingly looking for one of his defensive teammates to join him on offense, as he noted in a recent press conference.
When talking about CB Derek Stingley, he said, “Honestly, I’m trying to get him a play on offense,” also comparing his receiving abilities to Garrett Wilson.

Stingley was the No. 3 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, an elite athlete out of LSU.
While the coaching staff might want him to stay on defense only to mitigate injury, Stroud believes he could be a weapon on offense, if only for a few plays.
Anything could help the Texans get a slight edge on their opponents, especially in the playoffs.
They won Stroud’s first playoff game, but couldn’t get past the Baltimore Ravens in the second round.
With the AFC shaping up to be a dogfight again this season, success in the postseason could come down to a few plays.
Can the Texans draw something up their sleeve for Stroud and Stingley to execute?
