American driver, Max Esterson has secured a seat at Trident for the 2025 F2 season.
Esterson was called up for the final two rounds of the current season following Richard Verschoor’s switch to MP Motorsport, and enjoyed a competitive debut in Qatar despite failing to score points.
His promising performances led Trident to quickly sign him for next season, with the New York-born driver having finished 21st in his first full F3 campaign with 11 points this year.
Now “thrilled” to continue his F2 journey beyond Abu Dhabi, Esterson is now keen to continue learning the machinery ahead of next season.
“Participation in the Lusail race last weekend and in the final in Abu-Dhabi are very useful in this perspective: I think I have already understood some aspects of the category.
“Together with the coaching staff I will work hard this winter to make 2025 a great year. I would like to thank the team, my fans and family for everything they have done that has allowed me to be where I am today.”
Trident Team Manager, Giacomo Ricci is “very pleased” to secure Esterson after closely monitoring him since 2022.
“He is a driver we met two years ago, we have followed him very carefully and we have found remarkable progress on his part.
“This year, Max proved to be extremely competitive on his debut in the FIA Formula 3 Championship. I am sure that the American driver has all the qualities to do a good job with the technical staff and have a competitive 2025 season.”
