Home Town is back for another season of inspiring renovations from Erin and Ben Napier on HGTV!
Season 8 of Home Town “will spotlight the couple as they bring new life to outdated homes and historical locations in their small town of Laurel, Mississippi, while navigating their busy family life.”
Inside ‘Home Town’ Season 8 Renovations
“This season, they will complete an addition to expand a cramped lake house, face some unavoidable setbacks while trying to save a historic homestead and revisit a house they’ve previously renovated to make room for a growing family,” according to an HGTV press release.
‘Home Town’ Season 8 Premiere Episode Synopsis Has Been Revealed
In the premiere episode of season 8, Erin and Ben “will help a couple who’ve experienced challenges securing their dream home find a mid-century modern charmer.”
The couple, who wed in 2008, will also “tackle a time-crunch to build a huge garden complete with a greenhouse and a specialty kitchen that will supply the new homeowners’ budding salsa and hot sauce business” during the episode.
In a clip of the new show open, which was shared by Us Weekly ahead of the season, the pair reflected on being part of changing so many people’s lives in their Mississippi community.
“Any worthwhile journey should be like a great book that you can’t put down,” Erin said. “Our homeowners give us one part of the story and the houses give us the other. There’s so many opportunities [and] so many unloved houses.”
“When we started trying to revitalize homes in Laurel, we wanted our kids to grow up in a place that they loved,” Ben said. “And now, we’re doing it!”
How to Watch ‘Home Town’ Season 8
Home Town season 8 will premiere on Sunday, December 29, 2024, on HGTV and Discovery+ and will be available to stream on Max the following day.
Ahead of the show’s season 8 premiere, Erin reflected on a special milestone – filming 130 episodes of Home Town with her husband.
“I feel so lucky that my job is to tell happy stories about a place I love with the love of my life at work beside me every day,” she wrote on Instagram in December 2024. “Feeling so thankful for this production team and the work they do, and wishing I had taken more photos of everyone this year that don’t give away the reveals! That’s a wrap on season 8 part 2, watch it all on @hgtv and @streamonmax starting December 29.”
Fans were buzzing over the show’s milestone and excited to see the new season.
“I can’t tell you how much I love your show,” one person wrote. “You and Ben are so kind and it shows and your designs are amazing. There hasn’t been one I didn’t like and I’ve seen every episode more than once.”
“You guys inspire me every time I watch your show with your love for one another and the good hearts you both have,” another person wrote.
Erin Teased a Big Return
In November 2024, Erin shared a photo on her Instagram, writing, “When y’all see who installed this oak flooring you’re gonna FREAK out (hint: it wasn’t @scotsman.co, who used it to stretch ha).”
Many thought this could be a reference to the return of Mike Husers, a.k.a “Mike the Floor Guy.”
“We need Mike back on the show. His soft, sweet disposition is surely missed,” one person commented on the post, and many others echoed the same sentiment.
