The New Orleans Pelicans are currently the worst team in the Western Conference, with a lacking 4-13 record.

At this point, fans are asking if there is any chance of them turning things around.

That will only happen if they get healthy and thankfully they got good news about that on Monday morning.

According to Chris Haynes, Dejounte Murray intends to make his return to the team on Wednesday against the Toronto Raptors.

Murray was only able to play in the season opener for the Pelicans when he fractured his left hand.

He was able to put up 14 points, eight rebounds, and 10 assists before he hurt himself.

Last season, Murray averaged 22.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game for the Atlanta Hawks.

The Pelicans envisioned more success and a better role for Murray, but of course, this injury got in the way.

Sadly, it’s just one of many, many physical problems plaguing the Pelicans right now.

Their injury report features Jose Alvarado, Herb Jones, CJ McCollum, and Zion Williamson.

It’s been a long time since any team has faced the sort of injury problems the Pelicans have.

So even though Murray will be back and will likely provide a big help, it might not be enough to get this team back on track.

Sadly, it’s not clear when the rest of the roster is expected to return, so New Orleans may be facing tough times for the foreseeable future.

Still, this is a positive development for the Pelicans after weeks and weeks of nothing but bad news.
