Jennifer Lopez isn’t letting her split from Ben Affleck hold her back! The pop star was spotted enjoying a glamorous night out in Los Angeles with her twins, Max and Emme on Saturday, October 26.
The “Jenny From the Block” singer, 55, looked stunning in a semi-sheer, metallic baby pink slip dress and added an oversized denim jacket embellished with silver beadwork on one shoulder and sleeve for a touch of sparkle. Her 16-year-old twins accompanied her as they hit celebrity hotspot Arden for dinner, according to photos obtained by Page Six.
Meanwhile, Max and Emme kept it casual for the night. Max wore a black plaid jacket paired with black pants and a Bass Pro Shops cap, while Emme coordinated with a similar vibe, sporting a black T-shirt, navy pants, and black Converse sneakers.
Jennifer is currently in the process of finalizing her divorce from Ben, 52, after filing to end their two-year marriage on August 20. In her divorce filing, she listed the pair’s separation date as April 26, less than two years after they tied the knot in July 2022.
“It really did a number on her,” a source exclusively told Life & Style on October 2 about Jennifer’s initial reaction to the split. However, the source explained that in recent weeks, “friends and family have noticed a major shift — she’s finally ready to move on.”
The insider continued, “She decided to do some introspection — she says four divorces will do that. Get ready for an all new J. Lo — she wants to start a new chapter.”
The “All I Have” songstress opened up about her split from the Gone Girl actor on October 9, explaining that it felt “lonely, unfamiliar and scary.”
“It feels desperate,” Jennifer told comedian Nikki Glaser in a sit down for Interview magazine. “But when you sit in those feelings and go, ‘These things are not going to kill me,’ it’s like, actually, I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself. Being in a relationship doesn’t define me. I can’t be looking for happiness in other people.”
In addition, the mom of two opened up about her future dating plans and said she “wasn’t looking for anybody” now that she’s newly single. “For people who are romantics and love being in relationships and want to grow old with somebody, we think, ‘I have to have that to be whole and happy.’ And you don’t,” she shared with the outlet, admitting that her two-year marriage to Ben didn’t turn out as she had hoped.
“I was thinking about this time in my life, and I’m like, ‘That’s not what I thought it was going to turn out like.’ And then I thought, ‘No, this is exactly where I needed to be, to lead me to where I want to go,’” the Wedding Planner actress explained. “That doesn’t mean it didn’t almost take me out for good. It almost did. But now, on the other side of it, I think to myself, ‘F–k, that is exactly what I needed. Thank you, god. I’m sorry it took me so long. I’m sorry that you had to do this to me so many times. I should have learned it two or three times ago.’”
Jen and Ben first sparked their romance in the early 2000s after meeting on the set of the movie Gigli, where they played love interests. The pair were set to walk down the aisle in 2003 before unexpectedly calling off their wedding and then breaking up months later. The A-listers rekindled their romance nearly 20 years later, first being spotted on an outdoor adventure in Big Sky, Montana. Picking up right where they left off, the couple eloped in July 2022 and celebrated with a formal wedding ceremony a month later.
