Jessica Capshaw revealed why Taylor Swift and her mom, Andrea Swift, are her dream podcast guests during an exclusive interview with Life & Style.
While discussing her “Call It What It Is” podcast during iHeartRadio Z100’s Jingle Ball in New York City on December 13, Jessica, 48, revealed that she and cohost Camilla Luddington are “both so in awe and sort of gobsmacked by what Taylor Swift has done in the world.”
“The way that she’s just spread who she is and what she stands for and her creativity and her kindness and the community and friendship,” Jessica told Life & Style. “She is a dream guest.”
However, the Grey’s Anatomy alum revealed that Taylor, 35, isn’t her and Camilla’s only dream guest. “Interestingly enough, because we’re both mothers, we’ve always been very interested in how she’s been parented and made,” Jessica continued about the “Cruel Summer” singer. “I think in the spirit of just who we are, we’ve always said it would be so amazing to have Andrea.”
Jessica then went on to predict that having Andrea, 66, on the podcast “would be so much fun.”
It’s no secret that both she and Camilla, 41, are big fans of Taylor, and Jessica gushed about attending her Eras tour several times before it came to an end earlier this month. “Every time it was different, which I actually think is incredible,” she said about the record-breaking tour. “It’s funny, it was very different and very much the same.”
After noting that Taylor consistently put on a good show each night, Jessica acknowledged that “none of the shows were different in terms of what you got.”
However, Jessica explained that each show she attended felt different in a special way. “Because it’s a live show, every performance had a different … piece of it,” she shared.
Back in February, Jessica penned a sentimental Instagram post about her appreciation for Taylor after she attended one of her Eras tour shows. “Her deep and wide talent for songwriting (& poetry) and its ability to feel wild and measured at the same time is always included. My awe at her work ethic and how she seems to work as hard as anyone I’ve ever seen or known is always included,” the mother of four wrote at the time. “Her generosity and kindness in person and in real life when there are no cameras and no one is watching is always included. Her understanding of just how much music can affect change in things and in people is always included.”
She went on to praise Taylor for “lighting up the world with [her] very particular and unique brand of magic.”
“I am so grateful to have your music blasting out of so many rooms in my home. I feel every word when we drive around with songs blaring while scream singing. I love that your lyrics put together all of the most vulnerable and powerful pieces that make up the whole of living,” Jessica concluded. “And what I love the very most is the deep and unending love and devotion that our girls feel for you. It is a beautiful thing to watch the inspiration, courage and HOPE that you give them on the daily.”
