The rivalry between Selena Gomez fans and Hailey Bieber fans never takes a day off. Selenators flooded the comments of a recent post from Justin Bieber and they were skeptical that the “Love Yourself” artist was the one who did the uploading.
Justin, 30, shared a picture on his Instagram page on Monday, December 16, that featured his wife, Hailey, 28, kissing him underneath his ear. However, many social media users accused Hailey of being the one to actually post the photo.
“Guess Hailey is posting for you again,” wrote one person, while another added, “This is Hailey posting these pictures!”
A third Instagram user added, “Hailey log off omg.”
Justin had added “All My Ghosts” by Lizzy McAlpine to the post, and it really sent Selenators into an uproar. The song focuses on an ex’s wedding, and Hailey haters found the specific timing of the post to be suspicious as Selena, 32, just announced her engagement to music producer Benny Blanco on December 11.
Another person wrote, “My God, this post is pathetic and so sad. Of course, his hysterical fans will say I’m paranoid, but you need to stop lying to yourselves! He’s trying to send a message! Or maybe just trying to get attention. But seriously, why at this specific moment and with this song? Why?”
Earlier that same day, Justin shared a carousel of pictures taken during a recent vacation he and the Rhode skincare founder had taken. In the post with multiple images, the song “The Dress” by Dijon played, a tune reminiscing about an old relationship.
“We should go out and dance like we used to dance, we should go out and hold hands like lovers hold hands, and I can’t tell you who’s gonna last, well, maybe that’s a question and answer I don’t have,” Dijon, 32, sings.
Before these images, Justin hadn’t shared anything to social media since November 1, and many believed he had only posted pictures due to Selena’s engagement. Plus, he hadn’t shared a personal update about his since the birth of his and Hailey’s son on August 23.
The ongoing feud between Selenators and Beliebers began when Hailey and Justin began dating in 2018. The “Baby” artist and Selena dated on-and-off from 2011 until they broke up for good in 2018. Justin and Hailey had connected during one of his and Selena’s breaks and they reconnected after he and the Only Murders in the Building star went their separate ways for good. Hailey and Justin got engaged in July 2018 and they wed in a secret ceremony just two months later. Since then, Selena’s fans have been convinced that he’s still pining for his ex ever since, despite being a married dad of one now.
Selena began dating Benny, 36, in June 2023, but she didn’t confirm they were officially an item until December 2023. Since then, she’s shared several updates about how happy she and Benny have been in their relationship. On December 12, the “Who Says” singer revealed that Benny had officially popped the question when she shared a picture of a large marquise-cut diamond on her left hand.
