Khloé Kardashian revealed she got facial injections nine months after getting a cancerous tumor removed from her cheek in 2022.
“As a result of the surgery, and the tumor my incredible doctor removed, I ended up with an indentation in the side of my face,” the Good American founder, 40, wrote via Snapchat on October 11, according to a report by E! News. “I waited nine months after surgery to get the indentation filled.”
Khloé waited until her doctor gave her the “go ahead” to get the filler injected and made sure “medically everything was safe.”
The Kardashians star also shared before-and-after filler selfies, where the right side of her cheek had a visible dent between her cheekbone and jaw. The “after” photo was taken following her first round of injections and the indent was almost fully filled.
Khloé has regularly gotten melanoma removed from her skin since she was 19 years old. In 2022, the mother of two revealed that she had another patch of skin removed.
“After noticing a small bump on my face and assuming it was something as minor as a zit, I decided to get it biopsied seven months after realizing it was not budging,” Khloé wrote via Instagram Stories. “A few days later I was told I need to have an immediate operation to remove a tumor from my face. I called none other than Dr. Garth Fisher, a dear friend of my family, and one of the best surgeons in Beverly Hills who I knew would take incredible care of my face.”
The reality star documented her cancer removal journey during The Kardashians season 3, while she sported her post-op bandage on her cheek.
“Melanoma is deadly. This is way more serious than I anticipated it to be,” Khloé said during a confessional. “At 19 years old, I had melanoma on my back, and I had a surgery to remove that as well, so I am pre-composed to melanomas. Even those who are not, we should be checking all the time.”
She continued, “I am someone who wears sunscreen every single day, religiously so no one is exempt from these things. Please take this seriously and do regular self-exams as well as your annual checkups.”
In September 2023, Khloé shared progress photos via Instagram while she recovered from surgery.
“I never imagined that this tiny spec would turn into skin cancer and I can’t fathom what could have possibly happened had I not gone to the doctor to get it looked at. Paying attention to our skin and changes in our skin and our body, no matter how small, is so important,” she wrote. “There is no such thing as being too careful. You are you’re [sic] responsibility baby! Take care of you.”
Khloé often answered questions about her cheek bandage on social media, from fans who weren’t aware of her cancerous tumor. While filling someone in via Instagram in February 2023, Khloé gave an update on her healing journey.
“I had a tumor removed from my face but I’m totally OK. Thank u for asking,” she wrote to a fan who asked about her band-aid.
