There have already been three head coaches fired during this NFL season, and there will certainly be more in the offseason as there always are.
Bill Belichick and Mike Vrabel are the biggest names believed to be ready for their next opportunity this offseason, but former Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll could toss his name in the hat after one analyst recently linked him to a certain opening.
On Wednesday morning’s “Up & Adams,” analyst Yogi Roth told Kay Adams that Carroll does indeed still want to coach and would be an intriguing option for the Chicago Bears, noting, “Since he finished coaching in Seattle, he has not stopped competing…his energy to coaching is still there, so who knows how that shakes out.”

Roth said that Carroll still coaches him up on how to be a better husband and father and that the itch is still there, which is surprising because it seemed like he was done after leaving the Seahawks.
There are certainly worse times to need a head coach with Carroll, Belichick, and Vrabel all on the market this offseason.
The Bears are an attractive landing spot given the fact that they have a rookie No. 1 pick at quarterback, talent all over the offense, and a stout defense, while also still having their future draft picks.
Chicago recently fired Matt Eberflus on the heels of a 6-game losing streak that bubbled over the surface on Thanksgiving Day in an embarrassing loss to the Detroit Lions.
Carroll would be a fun replacement plan if you’re a Bears fan.
