Perhaps the most disappointing team in the NFL this season has been the Dallas Cowboys, who were able to secure the No. 2 seed in the NFC last season and punch their ticket to the NFL playoffs with one of the most talented squads in the league on both sides of the football.
Unfortunately for Dallas, injuries have taken a serious toll on this once-dominant squad, which has resulted in the team failing to live up to expectations and seemingly about to limp to the finish line during the 2024 campaign.
As if things weren’t bad enough for the Cowboys, the team will likely have to play the rest of the season without star quarterback Dak Prescott, who is dealing with a hamstring injury that has turned out to be worse than expected.
The Cowboys will move forward with Cooper Rush and Trey Lance as their quarterbacks, with neither separating themselves in the Week 10 loss to the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles this past weekend.
Clearly, the Cowboys have their issues, and some drastic changes could be on the horizon, but ESPN’s Mina Kimes argues that not only does head coach Mike McCarthy need to go, but the ownership is really hurting this team’s chances to compete via NFL on ESPN.
“Coaches come and go, but owners are forever,” Kimes said. “At least they are not going anywhere in the case of Dallas, and ownership has been such a problem.”

With longtime team owner Jerry Jones and his son Stephen Jones not going anywhere anytime soon, the Cowboys could be in for some rough years ahead while dealing with an expensive payroll.
Only time will tell what will happen to the Cowboys in the near future, but things aren’t going well right now, and that might not change.
