Mohammad Shami Opens Up On BGT Squad Omission And Rekindles Fumes With A Social Media Post Saying, “Sorry, BCCI.”
IND vs AUS: Indian legendary bowler Mohammad Shami has not played international cricket since the last Cricket World Cup in 2023. A huge setback for the Indian team as Mohammad Shami misses out on the tour to Australia for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
The selectors thought he needed more time to regain fitness for himself to feature with the red-ball for India, while his injury seems a major setback for India as they have included only inexperienced pacers in Rana and Prasidh Krishna for the BGT.
Mohammed Shami is toiling himself for the Ranji Trophy
The Indian expert pacer is seen gearing up for a Ranji Trophy season, as he has been seen sweating it in the gym alongside his trainer ahead of making appearances in the domestic season.
Over the years, Shami has been their best bowler, and now his regaining fitness prior to the Champions Trophy would be India’s prime concern. The Shami-Bumrah duo is what has won several games for India.
Just a week or so before, Shami was seen bowling in the nets, while now he is seen gearing up for a heavy domestic season with at least two Ranji Trophy appearances before making himself available for international cricket.
“Putting in my efforts and getting better with my bowling fitness day by day. Will continue working hard towards getting ready for the match and to play domestic red ball cricket. Sorry to all cricket fans and BCCI too, but very soon I’m ready to play red-ball cricket, love you all”, Shami went viral through his social media post.
Laxmi Ratan Shukla has confirmed Shami’s return to Ranji Trophy
Mohammad Shami informed us that he is looking forward to featuring in domestic games, and now Bengal coach Laxmi Ratan Shukla has confirmed the same. Shami is likely to play at least a couple of games for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy season.
Shami, who was earlier anticipated to make his comeback in the home series against New Zealand, has completed his rehabilitation at the NCA as he recovered from swelling to his ankle.
India’s fast bowling deck in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will include the likes of Prasidh Krishna, Harshit Rana, and Akash Deep as the most inexperienced set of bowlers, with only Mohammad Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah being among the pacers with prior experience in Australia.
