Bachelor Nation’s Ashley Iaconetti weighed in on Grant Ellis’ upcoming season of The Bachelor and revealed she’s hopeful for his season during an exclusive interview with Life & Style.
“We don’t know much about Grant. I actually feel like I know less about Grant than I did Matt James going into his season. And Matt was a total pluck out of nowhere,” Ashley, 36, told Life & Style while attending iHeartRadio Z100’s Jingle Ball in New York City on December 13.
As many Bachelor fans remember, Matt, 33, was named the season 32 lead despite never competing on the franchise. However, he was well-known within the franchise due to his close friendship with fan-favorite star Tyler Cameron.
“We were seeing so much of Matt on social media and we knew so much about him through Tyler,” Ashley explained. “With Grant, we had just like … literally 10 minutes of screen time.”
Despite not knowing much about Grant, 30, Ashley noted that he is a “very handsome guy” and he “seems very sweet.”
“The season seems dramatic from what we’ve already seen,” she continued. “But you know, I can’t really say anything more because [we still need to] learn about him. And hopefully he’s wonderful. As wonderful as he seems so far.”
Grant made his reality TV debut while he vied for Jenn Tran’s heart during season 21 of The Bachelorette. He was eliminated during the hometown dates, and he was named the next Bachelor star soon after.
Fans will get to watch Grant’s journey to finding love when season 29 premieres on January 27, 2025.
In addition to discussing Grant’s upcoming season of The Bachelor, Ashley also opened up about celebrating the holidays with her husband, Jared Haibon, and their sons Dawson, 3, and Hayden, 4 months.
“I really want to see Dawson’s expression with everything he opens because I think he’s gonna be excited about every single thing he opens,” she shared. “He’s a little performer. He loves the Jonas Brothers. He loves ‘NSYNC. He loves Trolls … Jared has been getting him into like Ninja Turtles and the Power Rangers theme songs and knows all the words. And he loves to play band in his room, which is adorable.”
Due to Dawson’s love of music, Ashley and Jared, 36, got their eldest son “a full blown stage” for Christmas that includes a drum set, an electric guitar, a piano, a microphone and a stage backdrop. “He’s going to be able to do his performances fully. We won’t have that set up [yet], but he’ll open them up on Christmas,” she explained about the gift. “I’m really excited to see his little performance space.”
Ashley – who married Jared in 2019 – added that having kids has changed her feelings about the holiday season. After admitting she was in a “Scrooge mood” a “couple of years ago,” Ashley said that it’s “so much more magical” with kids.
“Going to see Christmas lights and [watching] the classic movies, introducing them to our 3-year-old. He just loves it. And it’s so cute to see him like the same movies,” she said. “And with the 4-month-old, he’s kind of coming into his own right now and he’s just being really adorable and it’s just nice to have a baby around for the holidays.”
