The VikingsTerritory collective staff prediction for the Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings is in.

Our Official Prediction: Packers at Vikings

Minnesota defeated the Seattle Seahawks by a score of 27-24 last Sunday afternoon, the club’s eighth straight win. The dub maintained the fancy win streak, kept homefield advantage hopes alive for the postseason, and nudged the win-loss record to 13-2.

This Sunday, the Vikings are at home to battle the 10-4 Packers, a squad locked into a Wildcard playoff spot but hoping to ruin Minnesota’s grand hopes for the NFC’s No. 1 seed.

The writers at VikingsTerritory predict Minnesota will win its 14th game of the season.

Writers mostly chose the Vikings, evidently confident that the Vikings’ 13-2 record will climb to 14-2.

Here’s how the panel sees the score for Week 17:

Brevan Bane: Packers Win, 30-26
Sean Borman: Packers Win, 32-30
Janik Eckardt: Vikings Win, 21-17
Josh Frey: Vikings Win, 27-24

Ali Siddiqui:

Mathematically en masse, we predict the Vikings will top the Packers by a score of 28-26.

In Week 16, Wes Johnson most accurately predicted the outcome of Seahawks-Vikings. He forecasted a three-point win for Minnesota, and it, indeed, won by three.

The Vikings are favored to prevail by 1.5 against the Packers, and if so, Minnesota would be one step closer to securing homefield advantage throughout the postseason. If the Vikings win their next two games, all purple playoff games will occur at U.S. Bank Stadium.

USA Today’s Lorenzo Reyes picked the Vikings over the Packers, too, 25-21. “I’ve been dubious of the Vikings throughout this season, expecting Sam Darnold to eventually fall off. Minnesota has proven me wrong time and time again, and their track record should give them some benefit of the doubt, even in a huge NFC North showdown like this,” he wrote.

The Vikings haven’t beaten the Packers twice in the same season since 2017.

Green Bay will also hope to avoid sliding into the NFC’s seventh playoff seed, a spot currently inhabited by the Washington Commanders.
