The Carolina Panthers’ season is most likely a wrap.
It would take a lot for Dave Canales to get this team turned around.
And even if that happened, chances are they would be better off with a top draft pick as opposed to trying to compete.
With that in mind, there’s no point in keeping a veteran on an expiring deal.
That’s why it’s not much of a surprise to see that the team could look to move WR Diontae Johnson before the Nov. 5 trade deadline.
According to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, multiple teams have shown an interest in the former Pittsburgh Steelers star.

However, determining his actual value has been challenging, given that he’s in the final year of his contract.
Of course, multiple contending teams could benefit from a proven pass-catcher with a big-play ability like Johnson.
Then again, the Panthers likely won’t be able to recoup what they gave up to get him because he could be just a short rental for whichever team goes after him.
Teams like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Denver Broncos, or Los Angeles Chargers should be interested in making a run at him.
Other teams are also in big need of a wide receiver, but with their postseason chances looking slim, it might not make a lot of sense to trade for him if he’s going to end up leaving in free agency anyway.
