Rapper Kenyatta Blake, known by his stage name Buckshot Shorty, was jumped and severely beaten by a thug in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn on Halloween.
Graphic video shows the rap legend writhing on the ground in pain. His face is bloody and one eye is swollen shut. The attacker fled the scene on foot. The graphic video doesn’t show the actual assault.
According to Allhiphop.com, Buckshot was transported to the hospital, where he was treated and released.
Buckshot, 49, is co-founder of the hip hop groups Black Moon and Boot Camp Clik.
Black Moon released their first single “Who Got da Props” in 1992.
With the help of DJ Chuck Chillout, the group signed a record deal with New York-based independent label Nervous Records.
Black Moon released its debut studio album, Enta da Stage, on October 19, 1993. The album spawned the singles “Who Got da Props?”, “Son Get Wrec”, “How Many MC’s (Must Get Dissed)”, “Buck Em Down” and “I Got Cha Opin (Remix)”.
After the success of Black Moon, Buckshot helped form the supergroup collective Boot Camp Clik. The collective became known for blending streetwise lyrics with soulful and hard-hitting music production.
