Who Is Danny Joseph? Meet The Voice Season 26 Finalist on Team Reba

Danny Joseph is part of The Voice finale thanks to America’s instant save vote. As Reba McEntire’s only remaining team member, Danny gave two stunning performances on part one of the finale on December 9, 2024, and will find out what place he finishes in during the season’s two-hour conclusion on December 10, 2024.

Who Is Danny Joseph?

Danny is a contestant on season 26 of The Voice who has been writing and producing music since he was just 13 years old, according to his website. “He has a passion for soul, blues, and country music,” his bio reveals.

Danny’s work is done at his home studio, where he records, produces and mixes his own music. He also gives live performances around the Dallas/Fort Worth area in Texas.

Where Is The Voice’s Danny Joseph From?

Danny is from London, England, but moved to the United States in 2014 after meeting his now-wife at a church conference in Dallas, Texas. The two dated long-distance for 18 months before he made the decision to move across the ocean to pursue their relationship.

What Is ‘The Voice’ Contestant Danny Joseph’s Job?

Danny is a full-time musician and “happily supports his family with his music,” according to his NBC bio. However, before he came to the United States, he was a law student in the U.K.

The singer has also “tried barbering,” which “originally started as an experiment on his dad [and] quickly changed into more of an art form that Danny focused on perfecting.”

‘The Voice’ Contestant Danny Joseph’s Family

Dnany has been married to his wife, Joanna, since 2015. They have three children, including a daughter who Danny delivered at the couple’s home because their midwife didn’t make it in time for the birth.

What Is The Voice’s Danny Joseph’s Illness?

Danny has Crohn’s disease and had to undergo “major surgery to treat complications” from his illness, according to his NBC bio. He was diagnosed in 2016 and had the surgery – which removed his entire colon – in February 2024.

Crohn’s is an “inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that causes swelling and irritation of the tissues, called inflammation, in the digestive tract,” according to the Mayo Clinic.

The “extreme fatigue and pain” that Danny suffered from the illness made becoming a full-time musician a struggle. However, after weeks of being bedridden post-surgery, Danny was able to pursue his passion and wound up getting the call to audition for The Voice just days after his Crohn’s surgery.

“I did everything I could to recover and get better as soon as possible, when I arrived here on the show at the beginning of the process, I was nowhere near 100 percent, still massively fatigued and weak and dizzy, as the recovery has been so slow,” Danny shared in November 2024. “Thankfully I can slowly see that fading away, even though I’m still not at 100 percent. It took a while to get my voice back again and learn to sing after all the internal changes that had happened to my body.”

Danny Joseph’s Journey on ‘The Voice’

Danny received four chair turns during the blind auditions on The Voice, although Michael Bublé was blocked by Snoop Dogg from claiming him. He chose Reba as his coach and she picked him over Deon Jones following their performance of “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World” in the battle rounds (Deon wound up getting stolen by Gwen Stefani and also advanced).

In the knockouts, Danny performed against Lauren-Michael Sellers and Tate Renner. Although Lauren was picked as the winner, Reba saved Danny so he would move on in the competition. She then picked him again as one of her two finalists after his performance of “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” in the live playoffs.

Danny was in the bottom four after the semifinals, but advanced to the finale thanks to his instant save performance, which earned him the majority of America’s votes.
