So thoughtful! Taylor Swift has been baking her famous homemade pop-tarts for more than just boyfriend Travis Kelce‘s Chiefs offensive line, the wife of a coach revealed.
“Taylor Swift baked homemade victory Pop-Tarts[for] me!” Chiefs defensive backs coach Dave Merritt Sr. tweeted on Tuesday, November 26, following the team’s win two days prior over the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, he noted his wife, Yolanda, said, “She’s done it all season for different people, Dave.”
“I thought I was SPECIAL,” Dave, 53, joked, adorably adding, “Sweet young woman regardless!”
Taylor, 34, is branching out in her generosity, as in the 2023 season, she only baked her prized treat for Travis’ closest teammates.
Head coach Andy Reid jokingly complained that he wasn’t the recipient of the pop-tarts during an interview at the NFL scouting combine on February 27.
“She likes to cook, so she made the offensive linemen these homemade pop-tarts,” Andy, 66, told Mike Florio and Chris Simms. “She didn’t give me one, and the offensive linemen definitely didn’t give me one.”
Travis, 35, previously gushed about his girlfriend’s talents in the kitchen during a media availability in June. He gushed, “I thoroughly enjoy cooking with her,” while sharing, “Taylor makes a great pop-tart and cinnamon roll!’
The “Lavender Haze” singer used her cinnamon rolls to help give Travis a boost ahead of home games during the 2023 season, former NFL player Bernie Kosar revealed.
The retired quarterback, 61, shared a photo with Taylor ahead of the Chiefs’ October 22, 2023, game against the San Diego Chargers, having a pregame meal at Travis’ home.
“That was at his house like three hours before the game. We’re having pregame meal and Taylor is so nice she comes in by herself and she’s so cool, she brings, she made her homemade cinnamon rolls for Travis for pregame meal,” Bernie revealed in a December 2023 interview on Audacy’s AM 560 Sports WQAM.
It’s impressive that Taylor has had time to make pop-tarts during the 2024 Chiefs season, considering she is in the process of wrapping up the final North American leg of her Eras tour.
The 14-time Grammy winner made it to five of Travis’ home games so far, although she hasn’t attended any of his away games yet.
Taylor played three dates in Miami, Florida, and another three shows in New Orleans, Louisiana, in October, before her final U.S. stop in Indianapolis, Indiana, during the first weekend of November.
The “Cruel Summer” songstress just wrapped up six shows at Toronto, Canada’s Rogers Center on November 22, becoming emotional ahead of her final tour stop in Vancouver, British Columbia, where she will play her last Eras tour show on December 8.
During her November 21 concert in Toronto, the audience gave Taylor a standing ovation after she performed “Champagne Problems,” and she became emotional while thanking them.
Taylor began to thank those she’s worked with, saying, “And to my band and to my crew and everybody who has put so much into this tour … and I don’t even know what I’m saying, I’m just having a bit of a moment, sorry,” while wiping tears from her eyes. “It’s not even the last show!” she added with a laugh.
