Hearts are breaking all over the nation as The Golden Bachelorette‘s Jonathan Rone revealed he has a special someone in his life, just as fans started the campaign to make him the next Golden Bachelor.
During the Men Tell All episode of the show on Wednesday, November 6, Jonathan shared an update on his relationship status while chatting with ex Joan Vassos and his fellow castmates. First, he thanked Joan for making his time on the show so enjoyable. He has no ill feelings toward her after their breakup. And then, he dropped the bombshell about his dating life.
“I just want to give an update on this journey, that I met someone and the most important thing about that is that I’m happy,” he told everyone.
While everyone is so happy for him, many would love to know more about his relationship.
“Ok, who else wants to hear more about the person Jonathan met!?!? (So happy for him!) #GoldenBachelorette,” one person wrote on X, while another said, “JONATHAN WHO DID YOU MEET?????!!”
Jonathan did not reveal any further details about the identity of his mystery woman.
Just recently, Jonathan appeared on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast with Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt. He spoke about his dating life before going on the show.
“Living in Oakland, Iowa, in a town of about 1,500 people, there’s no one in my dating pool,” Jonathan said. “So I had to reach out to social media to see if I could connect with someone.”
He explained that his past relationship had a major “distance factor.”
“My last relationship lasted about a year and I met a girl online,” he said. “She was from Norway and I was pretty impulsive and I ended up flying over to Norway to meet her. And she flew to the States and met me here a couple times and so it was a good relationship, but it was difficult because that’s quite a distance. It’s like over 4,000 miles away and a lot of things to consider.”
“It became more of a fantasy that I was involved in and it took me out of my reality, it took me out of my present day, my responsibilities of doing things for my kids, for my job, things like that. And so the dating life has been kind of hit or miss,” he explained. “There’s always been a distance issue with me, but you know I’ve never given up on it, though.”
Overall, Jonathan is grateful for his experience on The Golden Bachelorette and the opportunity to meet Joan.
“I believe in love at first sight, so that kind of moment, that’s what I was envisioning,” he said of meeting Joan for the first time when he stepped out of the limo on night one. “If Joan and my eyes met for the first time and we had that connection, that’s what I was looking for because that’s a very powerful first moment between two people.”
Now that Jonathan is seemingly off the market, the door for the next Golden Bachelor is wide open. But fans think they know someone who is up for the task — Charles Ling!
