The Vikings’ Depth Chart as Minnesota Pursues the NFC Title

Someone who argued that Minnesota would be in contention for the top spot in the NFC as Week 16 neared would have likely been laughed out of the room. The Vikings’ depth chart, though, has proven to be tremendously resilient, which is to say nothing of how well the coaches have done.

Up next is a road game against the Seattle Seahawks. Depending on how things go, Minnesota could even see a familiar face in Jaren Hall at quarterback. Starter Geno Smith was hurt last week so there’s a chance that Mr. Hall is not only elevated for the game but sees the field. Stranger things have happened, folks. The Seahawks tend to have a strong advantage at home and are entering the game with an 8-6 record.

But, to be sure, Minnesota will be looking to keep the focus on themselves. Can Sam Darnold take care of the football as he feeds his various weapons? More and more, the QB1 looks to be settling into all of his options. Plus, the defense will be looking to play stout run defense while also igniting the pass rush to make life difficult for whoever is taking the snaps from under center.

As you await the late-afternoon game, consider the team’s depth chart.
