Manchester City entertain Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium in a blockbuster Manchester derby.
Victory will see Man City stay fourth in the table for another matchweek, whilst United can go 12th for a few hours with a win.
Team News
Rico Lewis is suspended for Man City following his red card in last weekend’s 2-2 draw at Crystal Palace.
Manuel Akanji is ruled out with a pelvis injury.
John Stones (foot), Nathan Ake (thigh), Oscar Bobb (leg) and Rodri (knee) remain ruled out.
Man Utd could welcome Jonny Evans back after the defender had been sidelined with a knock in recent weeks.
Luke Shaw (unspecified) remains absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Man City host Man Utd at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday 15 December at 4:30pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Man City have won five of their last six league meetings against Utd (W5, L1).
- Man Utd have won two of their last six league visits to Man City (W2, L4).
- City’s Erling Haaland has scored six goals in four league appearances against Utd.
- Haaland has scored in just two of City’s last six league matches.
- Utd are looking to avoid suffering three consecutive league defeats, having last endured three straight losses in December 2015.
Prediction
With just one win in their last ten in all competitions and Haaland out of form, City really need to dig deep and show more desire after a lacklustre midweek loss at Juventus to dent their Champions League hopes.
Man Utd meanwhile are still gelling under Ruben Amorim who thrashed City last month with Sporting Lisbon, but they weren’t exactly firing at Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League until substitutes made an impact.
In fact, I can’t see a strong quality contest coming given the issues within both teams but Utd do seem the more capable of a winner if this doesn’t finish level.
Prediction: Man City 1-1 Man Utd
