Crewe Alexandra host Bromley in a huge League Two showdown in the promotion race.
Victory could see Crewe climb as high as second if win by at least a two-goal margin, whilst Bromley can go ninth with a win and two points off their hosts if better Chesterfield’s result elsewhere.
Team News
Crewe have no fresh injury issues to report following their comeback 3-2 win over Carlisle, with a near-full squad set to be available for selection.
Connor Thomas however misses out with a knee injury.
Bromley too have no fresh injury issues to report following their dominant 3-0 victory at Gillingham, as Callum Reynolds and Cameron Congreve look for recalls to the starting line-up.
When is Kick-Off?
Crewe Alexandra host Bromley at Mornflake Stadium on Sunday 5 January at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Crewe Alexandra won their only previous meeting against Bromley by 2-1 result in August 2024 at Hayes Lane.
- This is Bromley’s first-ever trip to Crewe Alexandra in all competitions.
- Michael William has been booked in each of Crewe Alexandra’s last four home matches (W2, D2).
- Bromley are unbeaten in their last seven away games in the league (W4, D3).
- Crewe Alexandra have kept just two clean sheets in their last six league games at home (W3, D3).
Prediction
With one defeat in their last 15 league matches plus two losses at home in all competitions this season, Crewe are in excellent form but were lucky to beat Carlisle on New Year’s Day through two injury-time goals.
Bromley on the other hand might not be the strongest in possession but they were brilliantly clinical in their win at Gillingham, especially with their attacking pace and flair which looks problematic for oppositional defences.
Nevertheless this should be a good battle and with Bromley more solid than in their first clash, I can see them nicking this if score first and sit deep given that Crewe have conceded first in their last two games.
Prediction: Crewe Alexandra 0-1 Bromley
