RHOSLC’s Meredith and Husband Seth Are ‘Working Through Things’

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Meredith Marks has hinted at marital issues between her and her husband, Seth Marks, in season 5 after getting upset over his travel schedule.

In an exclusive interview with Life & Style, the reality star has provided an update on where things stand now after 28 years of marriage.

“When Seth and I weren’t talking about it the first time, before I was ever even on Housewives, that’s when the problems were really bad. When it’s not that bad, you’re talking about it and hopefully it doesn’t escalate to that level when you’re not talking about it. It’s probably pretty far gone,” Meredith, 52, said. “I think sometimes it’s when you’re talking, you’re in a better space because it’s like you’re looking for resolution, you’re working through it. When you’re quiet and not talking about it, you’re probably totally checked out.”

On the show, Meredith was surprised when Seth, 52, told her in front of cameras that he had to leave the couples’ trip to Palm Springs early because he had to leave for work.

He ended up staying on the trip, which was to celebrate Bronwyn Newport and Todd Bradley’s 10-year anniversary, longer than expected to make Meredith happy.

“Are we cool like this traveling?” Seth asked Meredith in the November 13 episode.

“Well, it’s a lot. I’m not loving it,” she responded before giving him a kiss goodbye.

In her confessional, she admitted, “I’m grateful that Seth decided to stay longer and is leaving slightly before me. But he’s not flying back to Utah. He’s going to Ohio. He’ll be gone all week, and we resolved the immediate fire, but there’s smoldering still going. We haven’t really fixed anything.”

While speaking to Life & Style at Alessa NYC on November 14 during an event to promote Meredith Marks Caviar, the entrepreneur revealed that his traveling for work has been something they have “dealt with” for most of their marriage “up until pretty much the pandemic” when she got “really spoiled” and they were “together all the time.”

“He was just working remote, and he’d have to go in [to work] here or there for five, seven days a month or whatever, but he would just be with me and it was great,” she explained. “And him having to actually be in an office, which during filming last winter, it was more about every other week or so that he was going and it started escalating from there to a little more and more.”

She went on to say that “it’s really tough” to deal with now since he’s flying from the East Coast back to Utah and their weekends get “very short.”

“We had to kind of work through that again and figure out how we can stay connected,” she shared.

Meredith said that they “did not go back into counseling” because “now I really think we have the tools for the most part to work through things ourselves.”

Even though she’s “not opposed to it,” their counselor is only licensed in the state of Illinois where the couple used to have a home in Chicago.

In August 2019, Seth had filed for divorce from Meredith. But, four months later, he dropped the petition after the pair reconciled. The couple has three children together: Reid, 27, Brooks, 25, and Chloe, 23.

“It’s a miracle we recovered from where we were because we were on the path to divorce. Seth filed. I mean we were going there, and it didn’t end up happening because we were able to get into therapy and fix everything,” she told Life & Style.

Meredith and Seth launched their own podcast, “Hanging By a Thread”, in September 2023 about their then-27-year marriage and facing a “mid-life crisis.”

The real housewife spilled that they plan on doing another season but have been “so slammed with so many other things.”

“We’re a little behind on it, but it will be back soon. Talking about [marriage] has become very easy for me, talking about a lot of things has become very easy for me that I used to be very private about, just because I see the impact you can have for other people and even just someone feeling like they’re not alone is a big deal,” she said.

Meredith is focusing on promoting her caviar, which is available in three different varieties – 24 Karat Kaluga, Diamond Ossetra and Platinum White Sturgeon – and working on releasing her caviar on DoorDash in Park City as well as other restaurants in the country.
