Christmas is this week so most soap fans know what that means! Expect your regularly scheduled soap opera programming to be interrupted, usually by the networks airing sports. Here is a handy guide to which soaps are airing original episodes, which soaps are airing repeats and which soaps will be completely preempted in favor of alternative programming.
Bold and Beautiful
New episodes air all week except Wednesday, Christmas Day, when there will be an encore presentation of a classic episode from December 24, 2014, which featured characters including Eric, Maya, Ivy and Carter visiting the real Union Rescue Mission in Los Angeles and volunteering to help serve meals to needy members of the community. There is going to be a family-oriented feeling at the beginning of the week as the Logans and the Forresters remember the meaning of the holiday — but separately, not together. Days of Our Lives
No need for a Christmas miracle this holiday for DAYS fans — because the soap is on a streaming platform, it will air brand-new episodes all week. The tradition continues as the Hortons trim their tree with many members being in town to hang their special ornament on Christmas Eve. On Christmas day, presents will be opened, loved ones will reach out to each other and someone in need of help will ask for it! You can see a preview of it in this week’s video promo.
General Hospital
New episodes air on Monday, Thursday and Friday. Monday starts off with a surprise for Anna, Liz and Lucky walk down memory lane and more. On Tuesday, Christmas Eve, the show will air an encore episode from May 22, 2024,when Elizabeth was alarmed, Alexis was thrown for a loop, Dante issued a warning to Sonny, Ava got key intel and Kristina made an offer. On Wednesday, Christmas Day, the show will not air — instead expect a sporting event to be aired on ABC. On Thursday, Dante gets alarming news, Sonny and Laura catch up, Michael vents to Jason, Willow defends her actions while Brook Lynn and Chase strategize. On Friday, Jason stuns Anna, Michael seeks advice, Trina assists Kai, and Alexis is in for a shock while Brennan makes a request. Young and Restless
New episodes air all week except Wednesday, Christmas Day, when there will be an encore presentation of this classic episode from December 24, 1985, in which you’ll see Victor torn between Nikki and Ashley, Lauren struggling to connect with Paul and Danny hoping for a Christmas miracle.
